Well, here it is! I had so much fun working on this piece. The beads from Ruthie at Rose Works Jewelry really challenged me to stretch my creativity.

I went to Michael’s on the off chance I could find some glass beads to complement the focal. Right at the front of the bead aisle, I found a strand of the rectangle beads you see on either side of the necklace. It was like they were made for it! I also bought the metal beads to bring a little bit of almost an ethnic feel to the necklace.

Something I had never tried before is leaving the wire exposed. The look seemed to fit and solved my problem of how to attach the oval. I used Beadalon 19 strand satin copper wire with rose gold crimps.

The chain links are from my favorite Rings-n-Things Antiqued Copper Hammered Oval chain. They seemed to accent the focal piece and did a great job of transitioning from the larger beads to the seed beads.

I hope you enjoyed our Bead Soup Party! Feel free to stop by the other member of  the party by clicking the names below. You will see some fantastic designs!
